GLENN TREST

Glenn Trest is an associated consultant specializing in management of physical security, executive protection and investigative projects and in North America. He has over 20 years experience in the private security industry and law enforcement.

Background & Experience:

Glenn’s extensive knowledge of mechanical and electronic systems and applications, combined with his network of resources, allows him to assist our clients in development of the most cost-effective security solutions available. Following graduation from the University of Southern Mississippi he spent nine years with the Dallas Police Department as an officer and detective, and represented the department on a number of multi-jurisdictional drug task forces. During his tenure he received numerous commendations for performance and was honored as ‘Rookie of the Year’ in 1987. In 1995 Glenn left the department to enter the private security field, establishing an investigations department for a large Dallas law firm. From 1997 to 2003 he served as the North American Regional Security Manager for Ericsson, a global leader in telecommunications. Following an extensive reorganization Glenn left Ericsson to join C. H. Guernsey and Company, an Oklahoma City based engineering, architectural and consulting firm as a security consultant. In 2004 Glenn formed Virtual Security Concepts, a security consulting firm dedicated to meeting the unique security needs of a select group of clients

Although Glenn has developed an expertise in the field of physical security program management, he has conducted and/or directed hundreds of investigations of varying degrees of complexity in the areas of employee theft; cargo theft; criminal misuse of company computer and internet facilities; intellectual property theft; workplace drug activity; product tampering; product diversion and grey market fraud; and due diligence. He has been recognized for successfully managing the development and implementation of workplace violence prevention and response programs; travel security and safety programs; and employee security awareness programs.

Glenn’s international experience includes management of investigations, executive protection assignments, security risk analysis, and security system design in Canada, Mexico, Latin America, and Western Europe. Throughout his career he has successfully promoted and applied team-based investigative approaches using interdisciplinary resources that provide the most comprehensive results for his work.

Professional Affiliations:

Mr. Trest is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security and has served as member of the Crime and Loss Prevention Committee and the Emerging Crimes Task Force. Glenn has published articles in numerous security related publications such as Today’s Facility Manager and Risk Management Magazine.
